We’re at 6790 Deadwood Ave, Rapid City, SD 57702 — nestled in a quiet valley in the Black Hills, just minutes from I-90. From Exit 52, head east on Peaceful Pines Rd for 2.1 miles. From Exit 55, head north on Deadwood Ave for 2.1 miles. Look for the Big Barn on the East side of the road — turn into our driveway right there.

Yes! Black Hawk Creek RV Park & Cabins is open year-round. Whether you’re chasing summer adventures or a peaceful winter escape in the Hills, we’ve got a spot for you.

RV site check-in is at 2:00 p.m.; cabin check-in is at 3:00 p.m. Check-out for both is 11:00 a.m. If you need to arrive early or stay a little later, just give us a call ahead of time — we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Note that late check-outs impacting another guest’s arrival are subject to a $50/hour fee.

Yes. If you arrive before 10:00 p.m., you can check in through our online guest portal. Arriving after 10:00 p.m.? Pull into the dry camping overnight area for the night and get settled into your reserved site starting at 6:00 a.m.

We have 110 full hook-up sites with 20/30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Site types include pull-thru, back-in, and compact sites — plus buddy sites for guests traveling together. Every site comes with a picnic table, gravel pad, and a grassy area.

Current 2026 Summer season nightly rates (before tax):

  • Full hook-up 30/50 amp Pull-Thru: $69
  • Full hook-up 30/50 amp Pull-Thru Buddy/Shared Site: $67 (each)
  • Full hook-up 30/50 amp Standard Back-In: $65
  • Full hook-up 30/50 amp Compact Back-In: $49

Absolutely. Our sites are spacious and designed with large rigs in mind. Our big-rig sites accommodate your rig plus parking for up to two vehicles.

Yes — buddy sites are set up so that doors face each other with a shared patio area between rigs. The following are our current buddy site options:  6 & 7, 8 & 9, 10 & 11, 12 & 13.

Yes! If you have a compact RV or camper van, select the “Discounted Site” option or “Van Life / Compact” when booking. We also currently have a Van Life promotion running through September 30, 2026: use code Van-Life 2026 for 15% off van/Class B reservations in sites 140–153. Excludes Sturgis Rally dates (August 7–16) and cannot be combined with other offers.

Yes, extended stay rates are available for qualified guests with seasonal pricing options. Contact us to learn more about what’s available and whether you qualify.

All RVs must be in good working condition and RVIA or ANSI certified. If your RV is more than 20 years old, please email us with your contact info and a photo of your rig before booking — we’ll get back to you promptly. Tarps are not permitted for weatherproofing.

Each of our 9 boutique cabins is fully electric and includes air conditioning, a microwave, a mini-refrigerator, and a porch swing. The bathhouse is shared with the RV park and is a short walk away. Cabins are the perfect home base if you want a roof over your head without the complexity of trailering a rig.

Some cabins accommodate 2 guests, while other cabins with bunk beds allow for 3 guests (most ideal for a child or adventurous adult). All cabins have queens and the loft cabins include a twin.

Summer rates start at $115/night.

No, pets are not permitted in the cabins. Pets are welcome at RV sites only.  Violation is subject to immediate ejection with no refund.

The cabins do not have private bathrooms. Guests share the park bathhouse, which includes showers open year-round and is conveniently located nearby.

Cabin check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m.

Yes — this summer, book a 3-night cabin stay using promo code 3for2 and get your third night free. The offer is available to the first 10 cabin reservations booked by September 30, 2026, so it won’t last long.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Excludes stays during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (August 7–16)
  • Holiday reservations qualify, but the complimentary night is charged at the standard nightly rate
  • Cannot be combined with other offers or discounts

Yes, well-behaved non-aggressive dogs are welcome at RV sites. Up to 2 dogs or cats per site are permitted. If you have more than 2, give us a call and we’ll see what we can work out.

  • Only non-aggressive dogs and cats are permitted on property.
  • Pets must be leashed at all times (max 15-foot leash), except in the Dog Run.
  • Pets may not be left tied up or unattended at any site.
  • Please clean up after your pet, including in the Dog Run.
  • Keep a copy of vaccination records handy, as we may request them.
  • Due to liability, aggressive dog breeds are not permitted.
  • Pet waste left at your site at checkout will result in a $100 cleanup fee.

Yes! The park has a massive Dog Run, with a picnic table, where your pup can roam off-leash. Please still clean up after them.

Current amenities include full hook-ups (20/30/50 amp), potable water, sewer/dump stations, a bathhouse with showers, dumpsters, a tent/dry camping area, playgrounds, picnic tables, a Dog Run, and free Starlink WiFi.

We have several additions in the works, including horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, community garden, social club, entertainment stage, a new bathhouse, laundry room, and a mailroom.

Yes, free Starlink WiFi is available throughout the park.

Yes. Packages will be held at the office. If multiple packages arrive in one day, a $2 per package handling fee may apply. Use this mailing format:

Not yet, but it’s on the way. A laundry facility is in the works and will be located just across the path from the cabins. Stay tuned for updates!

Wood-burning campfires and open-flame fire pits are not currently permitted. Gas fire pits and propane or briquette BBQ grills are welcome. If conditions change to allow open fires, guests will be notified directly by park management. Please never leave hot coals or a burning grill unattended.

Please don’t — transporting firewood can introduce insects and disease that harm local forests. If and when open-flame fires are permitted, local firewood will be available for purchase at the park.

Generators are permitted for dry camping only. If you’re in the dry camping area, please be considerate of run times and keep noise to a minimum for your neighbors.

Quiet hours run from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Keep music off, conversations low, and let the campground wind down. Your neighbors will thank you.

Yes, we have a tent and dry camping area. Generators are permitted in this area — just keep noise levels in check.

Yes — we’re about 25 minutes from Sturgis and 3 min from Black Hills Harley Davidson, making us a popular home base during the Rally. Note that Sturgis Rally bookings have a separate cancellation policy and some promotions are excluded during Rally week.

Yes. We offer winter storage for RVs, boats, and trailers. Visit our Winter Storage page for details and availability, or give us a call.

Yes, we’re a year-round park. Long-term winter stays (November through April) at non-metered sites require professional vinyl mobile skirting. If you need skirting, Custom Skirting, LLC operates on-site and offers our guests a savings of up to $200 on park stays with confirmed skirting orders.
